In January, Shinx worked with the International London Boat Show 2017 to launch our 360° video live streaming project. 360° live streaming might not be new, but it’s previously been limited to the few locations with an internet connection powerful enough to support it. Now it is untethered and available in all kinds of extreme locations.
Working with our clients XCommNet, we created an impressive and unprecedented spectacle. We brought together cutting edge 360° filming technology with the powerful portable internet of XCommNet.
Broadcasting a 360° live stream in 4K is a truly remarkable feat which demonstrates our ability to devise creative and unique ideas. The daily live-streams included interviews with Annie Lush from The Magenta Project and Pete Cumming & Brian Thompson from Team Phaedo. There were great opportunities to work closely with companies such as Musto, and the word about this unique project was well and truly out as website content, email news shots, and regular announcements told the whole show.
We previously tested the technology with the GliderFX stunt team in Dubai. The technology has so much exciting potential for use in yacht races, motorsport, air-shows, and in ways we have not yet imagined.
The technology was featured in a ‘Top Tech and Toys’ roundup by the global news broadcasters CNBC. The clip can be seen here: http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000582742
